The six areas of learning and experience (AOLE) and the four purposes underpin our curriculum design.

The six AOLEs are:

· Mathematics & Numeracy

· Humanities

· Expressive Arts

· Health & Wellbeing

· Languages, Literacy & Communication

· Science & Technology

The Four Purposes are (what we would like our pupils to become):

· Ethical informed citizens

· Healthy, confident individuals

· Ambitious, capable learners

· Enterprising, creative contributors

The four purposes are the starting point and are at the heart of all learning. They permeate all year groups from Nursery to Year 6.

Aligned to the school’s mission statement, ‘Be the best that we can be’, we set high expectations for all, promote individual and collective well-being, embrace diversity and actively encourage critical engagement in learning.
